A long time ago, I was watching a video which was exploring various art forms. One of
the items discussed was the concept of "fragmentation". A simple musical
definition of fragmentation is the art of noise. Examples include: random and chaotic
sounds of the city, grown men standing on a roof top and screaming at the top of their
lungs, and even a piano composition with no notes (or no noise). "Ah ha!", I
thought to myself. Now, I can put my music degree to work. Let my genius shine. Set to
Scott Joplin's "Maple Leaf Rag", please click on the MIDI icon to hear
"Maple Leaf Frag". (NOTE: Of course, you must have a sound card.)
"Maple Leaf Frag"
NOTE: I haven't taken the time to figure out how to access your sound card's special
effects percussion capabilities so this version of "Maple Leaf Frag" is not as
impressive (as if it was even impressive to begin with) as the original. I know. I feel
your disappointment.
